Open Innovation

Open Innovation has been defined as “…the use of purposive inflows and outflows of knowledge to accelerate internal innovation, and expand the markets for external use of innovation, respectively.”

Open Innovation represents an initiative that through workshops and seminars, foreseen to be implemented with the involvement of international experts, aims to enable youth innovators and entrepreneurship to enhance their knowledge in collaborating with international organizations and doing business internationally.

It aims to enable start ups and SMEs to profile their companies, their products/services and their intellectual property (IP) in order to find partners and collaborators for further development.

Living Lab

A Living Lab is an open innovation laboratory and a real-life test and experimentation environment where users and producers co-create innovations with the involvement of International expert.

The Lab puts the user at the core of the development process facilitating the design and the building of innovative products and/or services to meet their needs and the expectations of society.

The service or product created acquires greater relevance when needs have been clearly defined thanks to the participation of the user, and when the latter has been involved in its design and in the test phases.

A Living Lab employs four main activities: Co-Creation, Exploration, Experimentation and Evaluation. The Living Labs therefore contribute to the emergence of a new innovation system whereby the users/citizens are no longer just consumers but become players and contributors.
